Artist Statement

I'm a multidisciplinary artist who works primarily with painting, embroidery, textile, beadwork, and ceramics. Through the exploration of traditionally female-dominated mediums, My work is a celebration of feminity, exploring the complexities of womanhood and the intersection between gender and politics. My pieces often incorporate elements of surrealism and quotidian life, inviting viewers into a dreamlike world that contemplates the convergence of the mundane and the surreal. Amidst the era of globalization, fast fashion, mass production, and an overflow of information produced by the digital age, my work seeks to celebrate and embrace the slow and meditative process of art-making as well as preserve the disappearing traditions of manual craftsmanship. I enjoy exploring the intersection between different mediums and often combine a variety of techniques in my work.
